Iridescent

I'm not going to lie, Linkin Park was a favourite of mine early on in my teenage years. That being said, like a number of other bands, I still keep up with them but don't spend nearly as much time listening to their newer stuff.

Unfortunately, that means that I sometimes don't show the proper appreciation that the odd gem might deserve.

"Iridescent" comes from Linkin Park's most recent album, A Thousand Suns.

Once again, the beauty of CBC Music seems to know me all too well. While listening to the rock web station on CBC Music, this song just happened to randomly come across the airwaves.

When the album initially dropped, I played this song on repeat for days on end. I don't know what it is about it that grabs me, but somehow this song just really pulls on my emotions.

Linkin Park's upcoming album, Living Things, is set for release on June 26, 2012.

Iridescent by Linkin Park
When you were standing in the wake of devastation
When you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
With the cataclysm raining down
Insides crying, "Save me now"
You were there impossibly alone
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go...
Let it go....
And in a burst of light that blinded every angel
As if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
You felt the gravity of tempered grace
Falling into empty space
No one there to catch you in their arms
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go...
Let it go...
Let it go...
Let it go...
Let it go...
Let it go...
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation?
You build up hope but failure's all you've known
Remember all the sadness and frustration
And let it go...
Let it go...
